Nameservers are what connect your domain name to your website, domain email, etc.. They control DNS, which is often referred to as the "phonebook of the internet." If this doesn't make sense to you, that is okay. If we've sent you this article, just trust us that these changes need to be made. We would make them for you if we could (more on that later).
Before you start this process, make sure you know and have access to your registrant email. This is the address Network Solutions may send a verification email to once you make the change. If you are not sure which email address this is, please reach out to us.
Here are the steps for updating your nameservers in your Network Solutions account:
-
Log in to the Account Manager here: https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/account-center/login
If you have forgotten your login info, there are links you can click on the login page to retrieve or reset it. -
Select Domains on the left side of the page
-
Select the domain name you want to change
-
On the domain page, go down to the Advanced Tools section
-
Click Manage next to Nameservers(DNS)
-
Remove all existing nameservers and replace them with the following nameservers:
ns1.oneelevendns.com
ns2.oneelevendns.com
ns3.oneelevendns.com
ns4.oneelevendns.com -
Click Save
If Network Solutions prompts you to confirm this via an email or similar, please follow their further instructions.
This process is fairly straightforward, but if you are more comfortable with us doing the bulk of the work, let us know! We'll be glad to assist. Email us anytime at support@oneelevendigital.com.
One final thing we'll note is that if you registered your domain through us, this wouldn't even have to be a conversation; we could just take care of it! If you would like to transfer your domain to us, we can help you with that, as well. The email is the same: support@oneelevendigital.com.
