BUILD FAQ

This is a general FAQ for our new content management system ("CMS"), BUILD. It is not intended to be comprehensive. If your question isn't answered here please send us an email at support@oneelevendigital.com.

What is BUILD?

BUILD is the successor to Build111. They’re both content management systems designed to empower users to manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of their websites. The similarities stop there, though.

Why can't I keep my current site?

Websites are like any other piece of technology. No matter how much care and maintenance you provide, eventually they will need to be replaced. Sixteen years is a very, very long life for any digital tool, particularly a CMS. A sixteen-year support life is nearly unprecedented.

In regards to Build111 in particular, it is built on an antiquated coding language that is nearly defunct in 2021. As Build111 ages, the platform and its sites have become increasingly unstable and difficult to support. Build111 sites are built on Build111, so they cannot be migrated or transferred elsewhere.

When are Build111/Church111 going away?

Build111/Church111 will be retired on September 30th 2023. As there are many customers that have sites that need to be rebuilt in BUILD before this end date, we strongly suggest proactively reaching out to start this process. We are confident that if you begin rebuilding your site by March 31st, 2023, we will have your new site completed before the shutdown on September 30th. Projects initiated after March 31st, 2023 may not be completed before the shutdown. Please reach out to support@oneelevendigital.com for more information. 

What makes BUILD different from Build111?

I’m so glad you asked! For one, the builder is much more modern. A lot has changed on the internet since Build111 was introduced, and you may notice that Build111’s sites often stick out a bit. Well, sites on BUILD are built for the 21st century, and look the part.

Every site built on BUILD will also be mobile-friendly. Most web browsing is done via cell phone, so this is crucial.

Finally, BUILD is easier to use and manage than Build111. It has a responsive, visual editor. What does that mean? In brief, you make changes directly to a copy of your site. There is very little guess-work involved or expertise required. Of course, we will be here if you ever need help or have questions.

Is BUILD right for my website needs?

BUILD is a great fit for most businesses, churches, etc.. Something great about BUILD is its versatility and scalability. Some of the sites on BUILD are simple brochure sites, other have robust features and customization.

We’ll be glad to review your needs with you to determine what is best for you. If it isn’t BUILD, you have our word that we will say so.

Will I be able to maintain the site myself using BUILD?

Maybe! Some customers have built and maintained their sites without assistance. Others have preferred to let us handle it all for an hourly rate. Most customers are somewhere in the middle; they let us build the site and handle major updates, and they do most of the day-to-day upkeep.

How much will BUILD cost?

Monthly subscription prices start at $32 (plus tax where applicable).  Developments costs are $150/hr and we will provide an estimate of the amount of time that it will take develop a new site. Estimates are largely based on two variables:

• What does your website need?
• How much of it would you like to build yourself?

We are always glad to provide an estimate based around rebuilding what you currently have. That can be a great starting point. In most cases, we actually already have that number ready to go.

How quickly can you build me a new site?

Well, it really depends! Currently, most sites are ready to go live in 4-6 weeks, but that is subject to many factors.

What will happen to my email/domain name/other services?

Services not related to Build111/Church111 will be unaffected. Your domain name can stay the same. We may need to coordinate with you to update your nameservers, but we'll handle that when we come to it.

Why should I work with BUILD instead of Squarespace/Wix/Weebly?

We admit all of those options are similar to BUILD. The platforms are all pretty comparable, but….

We’re still a 100% Tennessee-based and small enough company that we get to know our customers. If you’ve been with us for a while, you probably know us, too. We've enjoyed working with most of our customers for many years. That longevity and strength of partnership is something other companies cannot provide.

Additionally, we take support seriously and will always strive to be communicative, efficient, and above all else, helpful. Have you ever called a company for help and talking to them was worse than the reason you called? We will never be that company.

Does this mean the company has been sold again?

The company has not been sold.

Will BUILD one day need to be replaced just like Build111 is now?

Well, to be blunt, one day it probably will be. Like we said, all technology eventually needs to be replaced. Our competitors are not immune to this reality.

When will that day come? Distant, distant future!
